HAZOP – HAZID
Using industry standard techniques BPE can provide the Chairman and Secretary as required to prepare the way, to execute and to close out a HAZOP study. All records and reports are delivered in an electronic format to suit customer needs. Studies can be undertaken on new plant, on developments, on modernisations or on existing facilities. The specific frameworks that we use to deliver HAZID and HAZOP Safety Studies are fully defined in our 5 Stage OHSE Procedure, part of BPE’s ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System. In each case, the procedure specifies the safety study objectives, the information required, the required study team composition and the study methodology.
The HAZID (Hazard Identification Study) is used for early identification of hazards and is applied as soon as Process Flow Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balance and draft layouts are available. A HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) is a structured design review used once the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) are frozen in terms of design.

We recognise the importance of the supporting Issues/Actions Logs that are maintained alongside the HAZOP study and on getting the right team together to complete the process including all relevant departments and disciplines. We use the HAZOP Manager Software to record the safety study process and actions.
