Senior process engineer joins BPE

BPE has appointed a new principal process engineer as it continues to expand. Karmele Sagarzazu joins the firm’s North West office in Daresbury, where she will advise and lead on projects for BPE’s growing raft of clients.

Karmele has a proven track record in projects within the chemical and life sciences industries and is an associate member of IChemE, which BPE works with closely.

Karmele kicked off her career in process engineering with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Metropolitan University Caracas in Venezuela. She also holds a Masters in Refinery Design and Operation from University of Manchester.

Throughout her career she has led on complex projects for the likes of Yorkshire Water, Morgan Sindall, AirBP and GSK Alliance. Before joining BPE she held roles with Stopford Energy and Environment and Jacobs.

Karmele’s appointment marks the latest expansion of BPE’s North West office, which has grown rapidly since it opened in 2016. It has seen such a demand for its services and such growth of its team that it had to move into a bigger premises at the end of 2018.

BPE, which is one of the UK’s leaders in chemical and biochemical engineering design, also has its headquarters in Hampshire.
