HazardEx 2018 takes place this month

One of the biggest events in the health, safety and hazardous area calendar takes place this month. The 2018 HazardEx International Conference and Exhibition gets underway in Cheshire on February 28 and March 1.

The two-day conference and exhibition, which also includes workshops, free seminar content, a networking dinner and awards ceremony, aims to strengthen and expand the community that looks to the HazardEx website and journal for industry intelligence and information.

As a company working at the forefront of process safety, BPE will be among the industry experts attending the event. Other companies attending or exhibiting include Eli Lilly, National Grid and Calor Gas.

With the evolution of automation and productivity high on the news agenda, Cybersecurity, IIoT and Industry 4.0 will be among the key topics at this year’s event. One of the highlights is set to be a keynote talk from the Health & Safety Executive and National Cyber Security Centre. ‘Cybersecurity: Is the UK prepared to address the risks?’ will cover the work that central Government is doing, including setting up to the National Cybersecurity Centre, its remit, what the landscape looks like and what we know about the energy and chemical industries sectors.

Other subjects to be covering during key note talks at the HazardEx International Conference and Exhibition include:

  • Digitalisation
  • Safety and security
  • Automated systems
  • Certification and regulation
  • And much more

Simon Wheeler, business development director at BPE, said: “As a UK leader in chemical and biochemical engineering design it’s important for us to be at the forefront of developments in the industry, particularly those around safety. HazardEx 2018 will allow us to do just that and share the valuable intelligence we have gathered over the last 12 months with our industry peers.”
