Dust explosion project scoops second award nomination

BPE has been shortlisted for its second award in as many months.

Just weeks after being named as a finalist in the HazardEx awards the company has been shortlisted for the Chemicals North West Awards 2017.

The annual event aims to shine a light on the achievements of firms in the chemical engineering world and BPE has been shortlisted in the health and safety category for its work in helping to reduce risk of dust explosions.

Jon McGeehan, who heads up BPE’s North West office, said: “To be shortlisted once is an honour but to be in the running for two awards is fantastic. It’s testament to the hard work put in by the team on this project. Their deep knowledge of the scientific principles behind dust explosions, combined with their drive to find new ways to solve problems has helped to form a completely new approach to assessing and reducing risk.”

BPE will find out if it has won at an awards ceremony in Liverpool on March 30.
