BPE is cementing its commitment to developing the UK process industries by supporting the sector’s biggest awards event.
The company is an official supporter of the IChemE Global Awards and it’s also sponsoring the Young Researcher Award at this year’s event.
The IChemE Global Awards celebrate chemical, process and biochemical engineering excellence and are widely recognised as the world’s most prestigious chemical engineering awards.
This year’s awards, the 24th to be held, will culminate in a glittering event at The Principal Hayley Hotel in Manchester on November 1.
This year there are 17 categories including Oil and Gas, Sustainability, Process Safety and Industry Project. Among the new additions to this year’s scheme are Pharma and Diversity & Inclusion.
BPE is committed to nurturing the next generation of chemical engineers and, as part of that commitment, is sponsoring the Young Researcher of the Year Award.
The award recognises the individual who best demonstrates the impact of their research in helping to address important economic, environmental or social issues. It’s open to those born on or after 1 January 1988.
Noel Quigley, BPE’s technology director, said: “We’re thrilled to sponsor this prestigious award. It’s important that, as an industry, we encourage and commend the next generation of researchers. They are the people who will be leading the sector forward long into the future and we know there is huge talent out there. The judges will certainly have their work cut out picking just one winner.”
BPE has a long association with IChemE. Most members of its team are Chartered and many are Fellows of the organisation.
Entries for The IChemE Global Awards 2018 are now open and the deadline for entries is June 30. To find out more visit the official website.
