The client wished to build a biomass fuelled CHP plant to provide electricity and district heating. Documentation was required for costing, planning application and environmental permitting.
Key challenges for the design study team included a need for robust Air Dispersion Modelling, establishing the most effective option for Ship Offloading, Fuel Handling and Storage and also how best to achieve Power Grid Connection.
OLG BPE provided a comprehensive set of engineering design deliverables including Material and Energy Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment Specifications, Layouts, and documents to support the planning application and environmental permitting.
OLG BPE developed and cost a design to ensure the best efficiency whilst minimising visual impact. Working with the Local Authority and Environment Agency the necessary documentation including air dispersion modelling was produced for a successful planning application.
